Battlegrounds is an action packed game in which up to one hundred users compete with one and other in a battle royale. The game is a last man standing deathmatch where users battle to be the last standing player on the battlefield. Players can choose to play in a solo match, or with a team of up to four people. Whatever case it is, the last player or team standing wins the match.
In every match starts with players parachuting from an air plane onto a battle map area that is 8 by 8 kilometers in size. The plane’s fly across the map within each round, making the players make the best time to eject and parachute into the battleground. When players start each match they have no gear beyond their customized clothing which do not hurt the players gameplay. When the player lands they can search buildings and other structures to find weapons, vehicles, armor, clothing, and other equipment. These items are scattered evenly throughout the map at the start of each match, with certain zones that maybe having better equipment. When a player was killed other users can loot dead corpses to get gear that way.
Within every few minutes, another area of the map begins to slowly cave in making the maps location a much smaller place, when a player is caught outside the safe area is taking damage and being eliminated if the safe zone is not accessible at that time; in the game, players will see a blue wall that shifts into a smaller battlefield over time. This makes the player encounter other players in combat. During the match a random location of the map that is highlighted in red is a bombed area, threatening the players that are in that area. These players are warned a few minutes before these type of things happen, giving them time to get to safety. At random times of the match a plane will fly across different parts of the accessible parts of the map and drop a loot package. The loot packages have items which are usually not accessible during a normal match. These packages have a visible red smoke, making players wanting to get to it and creating altercations between players. In a normal match it usually takes no more than 30 minutes to play.
At the end of each round, players gain in-game currency s based on how long they survived, how many other players they had killed, and how much damage they dealt to other players. The currency is used to purchase crates which contain cosmetic items for character creation.
